Real Madrid fear they are losing control of the Sergio Ramos transfer
wrangle despite turning down a £35million bid from Manchester United for
the Spain defender. It is understood that Real president Florentino
Perez took the unusual step of calling Ramos personally to reassure him
that his contract dispute will be resolved after he returns from a
holiday in America and before Rafael Benitez's squad depart for a
pre-season tour of Australia and China on July 11.
